Tuition is only available on an individual basis; this is the best way for in-depth tailored learning.
I teach children from age 7 to 18 and have a few places for adult pupils.
I have over 40 years teaching experience; I am a good-humoured, patient and knowledgeable teacher and I work hard to bring an element of inspiration to my lessons.
I teach the Classical Guitar to Grade 8 and beyond, and enter pupils for ABRSM examinations, but exams are not compulsory.
I teach music theory, always linked to practical development.
I also link into the practical requirements for both GCSE and A Level music.
I encourage children to use the guitar for their skills section for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Scheme.
I only teach conventional music reading skills.

On the contact page please leave your mobile phone no. – a conversation plus a video call (strictly only by appointment at a designated time please, to check our connection for online tuition) will be necessary before regular tuition can begin. Also please do not buy a guitar until I have advised on size (related to age of pupil) and suggestions of make / models to suit your budget; I will also advise on tutor books / music required.
